When Is The Right Time To Climb Mount Abang?
All climbers crave sunny weather as they climb. Fine weather makes clear eyesight. They also do not need to carry many items such as raincoats, thick jackets, and supply foods like when climbing in the rainy season. When taking photos, it does not require too much effort to get good light. The path traversed is not slippery. It is easier for you to walk.
It is better to climb Mount Abang when the weather is good. So, you can predict the appearance of the sunrise and enjoy it when the orange-yellowish sphere comes. Fine weather comes with clean white clouds hanging in the sky as if it were a curtain that covered the view of Mount Batur behind it. Do not miss the magical misty that hung in the sky before sunrise. You can enjoy this view if you reach the top of Mount Abang under 5 o’clock in the morning. Amazing.
Climbing Preparation
- Climbing Mount Abang has about the same preparation as other mountain climbing. These are all you need to prepare.
- Get to know the terrain of Mount Abang. Mount Abang is located in the Kintamani area. It is not too difficult to reach. It is just when you arrive at the forested hiking trail, you will be accompanied by a row of trees, mountain plants, flowers, and mountain animals. - Climbing routes that are obtained by searching on the internet or asking local people who are usually more understanding about the trek.

Jata was a patient guide - I needed to catch my breath while climbing up and i’m petrified of heights so he literally held my hand while coming down. It was a breeze because of him. Couldn’t have imagined doing this without the support. Wayan Sukrawan drove us to Batur from our hotel and the Hot Springs. It was comfy and super nice to be have him shadow us through out. Getting into the hot springs after the trek was a blessing. A little crowded and sunny but very much needed. David W2025-06-08Verified Sunrise Trekking with breakfast and Hotel Transfer Ari picked us up and was on time. His English is quite good and was very friendly! We then met with Jata at the base of Mt. Batur and he was fun and kind! He provided us with walking sticks and headlights to start the trek and kept us entertained. If we needed to stop for a break he didn’t mind at all. His English is also very good and when we reached the top he took so many pictures for my wife and I, even coming up with awesome posing ideas! I highly recommend using this company to book this tour. alastair k2025-06-07Verified An unforgettable experience on Mount Batur Our jeep driver and mountain guide Yon was excellent. Emmaline E2025-06-06Verified The best trek up Mount Batur We had an incredible trek with Carik!! He was an amazing guide! Highly recommend (if you don’t mind getting up early - haha)! Isabella S2025-06-06Verified Best experience in Bali! It was such an amazing experience!!! My favorite thing I did in Bali. Our guide Carik was so kind and allowed us to have the best experience. During the hike (which can get rocky and tiring), he made sure we had time to rest and allowed us to set the pace. When we got to the top, he picked the best spot for us where we could see the sunset unobstructured by other people. After the sunset, we spent almost 20 minutes watching the monkeys eat the rest of the food at camp. Thank you to our guide Carik and our driver Wayan!Showing only 4-5 star reviews
