  • Get to know the terrain of Mount Abang. Mount Abang is located in the Kintamani area. It is not too difficult to reach. The Access Of Hiking Trail

The access to Mount Abang is quite easy. When you get to the starting point of the climb, you can see the signs provided along the hiking trail. From where you stay, use Google Map to find Suter Village in Bangli. You can go to Jalan Batur Tengah.
From Denpasar (it is about two hours to Kintamani), when you find the T-junction, you can turn left. Then, go straight ahead until you reach the last T-junction.

From this last T-junction, you go straight ahead to the Mount Abang climbing post officer. Here you can pay a very affordable entry ticket.

The Forest Route

Gunung Abang is famous for its unspoiled hiking trails and few visitors. When you get to the forest, you don’t need to be afraid of getting lost because the access is quite easy during good weather. But you may need a guide if this is your first hiking on Mount Abang.

However, if you are not confident with yourself, you can ask a guide from the post officer to accompany you during the climb or book this with the right Bali trekking company.

 

You have to arrive in the forest at least 3 a.m. to catch the sunrise around 5.30 a.m.
Follow the path in the forest. The path becomes slippery when it rains. You may find many leeches around you. Sometimes you also see the fallen trees in several hiking trails. Use the tree as a foothold when climbing.
You will see several holy temples in the middle of the mountain.

The misty atmosphere from the top of mountain at 4 or 5 in the morning will beautify the scenic spot there. After sunrise, you can clearly see the beautiful background of Mount Batur and Batur caldera.
